The Awakening and Growth Retreats
Awakening
The Awakening retreat is lead by a group of students who have been on Awakening in the past with the guidance of a CSC Staff Intern. People of all backgrounds are welcome to go on Awakening. Retreatants cover a wide range of religious experiences, from those who might consider themselves retreat professionals, to those who are not even Christian. Retreatants cover the full array of college majors, personalities, and backgrounds.
During the retreat, there are inspirational talks given by students, opportunities to share with others on the retreat, time for prayer and reflection, songs, recreation, and Eucharist. There will be some free time on Saturday. The Awakening retreat can be a time when your beliefs may be challenged by others, or when you may challenge your own ideas. The atmosphere surrounding Awakening is fun, supporting, and nurturing. The retreat is an amazing place to meet extraordinary people. Almost everyone leaves the retreat moved in one way or another.
If you are interested in going on Awakening, contact Carl
Gismervig for
more information about when sign-ups will take place. Don't be surprised if you end up feeling loved by and closer to a few more people by the end. Feel free to invite your friends--and come make new friends! Take a chance on yourself.
Growth
The Growth retreat is a retreat for those who have already been on Awakening and delves deeper into many of the issues examined by Awakening. The group is smaller than that of Awakening and gives individuals an opportunity to put their faith into action while allowing for more self-reflection.
